I can't even tell you how many shots I took of these three.
I couldn't believe how self assured they were.
He and his sister had no fear of me.
The youngster walked close enough to me, I could have reached out and touched him.
What a treat to get this close to a wild creature.
I hope they aren't this comfortable because people have been feeding them.
There are signs every ten feet...Absolutely Forbidden to feed the wild animals.
He doesn't look very wild, does he?
Even mama came out of the shadows. At one point she sat for me and scratched, showing she's still nursing her two babies.
Very mellow young lady.
"I know I'm cute."
"Okay, see ya later."
"Yeah. Tootles."
A fantastic post. They are both attractive and accommodating.
ReplyDeleteAaaaw, so cute.
ReplyDeleteYou have some wildlife there I wouldn't like to get close to, but these don't come into that category.
I think they are great even though they can be pests in the trash bins. Never saw in in real life over in the US other that roadkill
ReplyDeleteHaving never seen a racoon I have no idea if I like them or not but to me they look quite adorable and very friendly.
ReplyDeleteI only hope people are heeding the sign and not feeding them.
Thank you for sharing something which, to me, is entirely different.
Who doesn't like raccoons? They are so cute! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo-shoot, Mac. My daughter's dogs see off any that dare encroach on 'their' property so photos of them are rare.
ReplyDeleteThey ARE cute!
ReplyDeletei never like to see them out during the day - either because they're losing their fear of humans - as you said, due to feeding - or for fear of rabies (when you see one out alone).
ReplyDeleteCute but not cuddly---after all they are wild animals.

I do enjoy them, and respect them a lot! One summer camping we couldn't eat the Rock bass (DNR warned) but my son wanted to take the "learn to fillet fish class) so he did and we placed it on a paper plate stuck it in our garbage can and while we slept those sweet little raccoon fingers removed the lid and dined on it.
ReplyDeleteSince I don't live around them I just think they're darn cute :) Wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day

Pureness of the Raccoons, I would love to see one, excellent images.
ReplyDeleteYou can envy such a close encounter with raccoons. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that was up close and personal with those rascally racoons. Good thing they don't have rabies!! lol Rabies is getting very bad in the southwest corner of our province carried by racoons and other wildlife. I'm guessing these ones are used to people being around them a lot.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute, especially when they are not in my yard! Great series..
ReplyDeleteRight! They know very well they so cute :D
ReplyDeleteLovely animals altough we can see them in ZOOs only
Mac, I know they can be destructive, but they are so cute!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThat's the kind of animal i will never have in front of me, because we don´t have them around here.
I never suposed one could get so close...:-)
xx
Wonderful pictures. I love raccoons. I was once chased by six raccoons for about 1/4 mile.
