Snapshots - Picnic Island Park, Tampa P4

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. Just click the red X if you don't love wet dogs.

This is Fraulein with her dad. She didn't feel like fetching.

A Labrador going long.

"I gotta pee. I gotta pee."

More of Fraulein. I spent some time with her and her dad.

One laid back German Shedder.

Her dad said, "Yeah. Sometimes I check to see if she's still breathing."

I fell in love. Had nothing to do with missing my own GSD...Corkie.

An immediate, slobbering love affair between us.

Mikey. Boy, he'd chase anything.

Rope.

Red Striped Bass.

Pink flying disc.

Hi, Loomis!

I got it.

Yom yom.

Snapshots - Don't Open if you don't like Raccoons P3

Greetings from the Hermit Writer.

I can't even tell you how many shots I took of these three.

I couldn't believe how self assured they were.

He and his sister had no fear of me.

The youngster walked close enough to me, I could have reached out and touched him.

What a treat to get this close to a wild creature.

I hope they aren't this comfortable because people have been feeding them.

There are signs every ten feet...Absolutely Forbidden to feed the wild animals.

He doesn't look very wild, does he?

Even mama came out of the shadows. At one point she sat for me and scratched, showing she's still nursing her two babies.

Very mellow young lady.

"I know I'm cute."

"Okay, see ya later."

"Yeah. Tootles."

Snapshots - Picnic Island Park, Tampa P2

Greetings from the Hermit Writer.

Another sweet ride. I could write a novel on that puppy

(subliminal message: Have you bought one of my books lately?)

Yes Louise, we know you're gorgeous

This is Mandy.

And Mandy's son, Hugo.

Someone tell me what kind of boid this is. It isn't common around these parts, I don't think. Eileen says it's a Shrike.

Snapshots - Picnic Island Park, Tampa P1

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. I'm glad I revisited this park. The city has really improved it, with a dog park and disc-golf course. Hope you enjoy these March 15 shots.

"Honey, stand there like a dork and let me take a picture."

Let's just stretch out here.

Gandy Bridge to the north

A lonely mangrove...

...makes a lovely foreground

...Doesn't it?

That's a sweet ride.

St. Pete, across Tampa Bay

King of the...uh...floatie

Something touched my foot!

Sunday Safari - Sawgrass Lake Park, St. Pete

Greetings from the Hermit-Writer. This is a nice park for strolling. Not a lot of picnic areas for a family outing, but I nice hideaway in the middle of the city. Hope you enjoy these shots from March 15.

Avery says, "Hi, yall." (He's a good Southern moorhen.)

Jake didn't like me taking his picture.

They only want you to swim in those concrete ponds, here in FL

Southern Florida right here in the city.

Water hyacinth always makes me think of the 1960s Tarzan movies. I have no idea why.

Lilly stuck around to let me take her picture. How sweet.

Logan was freshening up the den.

Yeah, you never see things like this in FL

This is Michael. He didn't like me poking a camera in his face.

Just one more shot, Michael.

Ahhh, I do hate Florida.

Shady place to cool off in the shade. Will need that in a few weeks.

Pretty (just thought I had to say something)

Lukus will be big enough in a couple years to get moved to a nearby preserve.

Taking a break in the shade

This park has an extensive boardwalk...

...To stroll and enjoy the hammock.

Whew. Just in time.

Back on the boardwalk

This guy was being subtle, below the boardwalk

Not a great shot, but this guy was huge! Bet he weighed forty pounds.
