Tampa's Gasparilla Parade

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. I attended the Gasparilla Parade yesterday (Tampa's Mardi Gras). Had a blast without imbibing a single drop, loving the fun. For all those young people and the young at heart who had a blast...

Many more to come.

Snaps - Robinson Preserve 1

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. The next week you'll be amazed by my photography skills...via the Robinson Preserve, in Bradenton, Florida. Click your seat belts.

I'll start on the less-than wild side. This beauty on the right is Henry.

About half of the trail at Robinson looks like this,( exactly, with these four people and this lovely Yellow Lab).

His name was Albert. He fell in love with Henry.

Back to Henry, because he is soooo photogenic. He's my neighbor Heidi's pup.

I love this boy.

And this is my neighbor Heidi. "Hi, Heidi."

Unfortunately, we had another overcast day. Argh.

Sea grape leaves turn such a wonderful color.

Snapshots - Lakeland Highlands Scrub

Greetings from the Hermit Writer.

Before leaving the park, met these two gorgeous ladies. You may be aware, I love GSDs. (I miss you, Corky). Aren't these girls absolutely beautiful?

Rule #4...never pass up clicking on a combination of an interesting tree and sky.

Snapshots - Lakeland Highlands Scrub

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. This is a nice little county park smack dab between Lakeland Highlands (a snooty suburb of Lakeland), Mulberry, and Bartow. Some very sandy trails, but a nice place to get into nature and snag some exercise. I was there on ANOTHER dreary day. Very unusual for Florida in winter.

Snapshots - Carter Road Trail, cont.

Greetings from the Hermit Writer.

Yep, this is what central Florida looks like (on a dreary day).

A cormorant visiting fresh water.

Can you say you visited the Black Forest this weekend?

Beautiful park. A bit small, but I recommend it for hiking, jogging, or riding.

Blue trail.

Yellow trail...you may still have to watch your head.

Snapshots - Carter Road Trail, cont.

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. From my Jan 2 bike ride.

Yes, I DID follow the yellow brick road.

Stinkin' dreary sky...but I still liked this shot.

Aren't anahingas cool?

This ramp is one reason I stay off blue and red trails.

Yeah...I like the yellow trails

Oh, what would this have looked like with a blue sky?
