Loving Mother's Gifts

Greetings from the Hermit WRiter.

The trail is mostly covered in moss...because it is underwater most of the year. Come to Gator Creek long after the rains.

"Reach, reach, reach," said the yogi.

There is something distinctly awesome about a cypress slough.

The trail. And this is the dry season.

Gray winter cypress

Just a gratuitous pine photo, since they haven't gotten their share of attention.

  3. Hello, this park is in Lakeland. I think I have been there a few times, during dryer times. Love the trees and trail. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!

  6. I happen to love sloughs, because that is where you see the coolest cypress trees and knees and I always think I am about to see a gator any second...but I never do. Gators hang out at the lake and I do not care for them at all. Creepy looking ancient beings...I imaginethem as one time dinosaurs who have lost their kingdom and are now doomed to slink in and out of water's edge, or peek out of the water, watching you, watching them. Eerie creatures.
