The Horror, The Horror

At the risk of raising old traumas, I visited MIDDLE SCHOOL today, helping the missus move into a new classroom. Congratulations for surviving another year, Mrs. Wheeler.

The regimen floods back at me...eeeeeeeeeek

I still managed to be artsy

The missus emptying her cabinets

She's so bashful.

I survived the experience...on the way home under the gorgeous Florida sky.

  2. Great quotes! They're terrific reminders. Not sure how I'd feel visiting middle school/junior high. How I just dated myself!

  5. What age group is middle school? We have it different here in Australia. We have infant school, (prep, grades one and two) for 5-6-7 year olds, then Primary school, grades 3 to 7 in my state, SA, grades 3 to 6 in Victoria, then High School to grade 12. After that kids go to Uni if they want to, or get jobs.

  8. Nice use of depth of field - I was a teacher for the best part of 20 years! Those that stay in the profession have my respect!!

  9. Lovely photo of your wife.

My son (and previously, my other son) go to the same school I did. So when I go in for parent's evenings etc, I'm sitting in the same corridors I used to wait in for classes. My eldest son was taught by some of the same teachers as I was - that was a very peculiar experience!

  15. You are braver than me! I turned down a classy new apartment because it was built from an old Middle school. The smell was still there! LOL. Pretty wife!

  16. Teachers are a special kind of people, it's like they are the commanders of the control center in the minds of all. Not just for children but what the teachers everywhere after our blessed and kind of horror filled school years, from my being a mom to being a grandmother, they show us the way. Forever learning something new, always.
