I love those clouds.
I Just liked the snags, but missed the hawk until I had the shot on my computer.
A second shot and I still didn't see the hawk on top of the snag.
Multi-genre author of flawed characters luggin' a ton of baggage
Beautiful summer shoots !Love that Dragon Insect:))))
ReplyDeleteRed-mantled Saddlebags or Red Saddlebags (Tramea onusta)
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Mac! I was chasing a couple of juvenile Blue Skimmers around yesterday, but they never let me get a pic.

Photo # 5 reminds me of a very skinny scarecrow dancing in the breeze! Guess it's the one with the hawk? But it seems so manly! Every tree = it's own personality!
ReplyDeleteLuvely dragunfly and the trees have long arm. Best, Synnöve
ReplyDeleteIt's me again! Upon further review, that might be a Carolina Saddlebags (Tramea carolina).
ReplyDelete"The end of abdomen has black dorsal spots."
I would love to get a shot of either, of course. (For 2016.)

Ha ha...you clearly love this stuff. Have a biology background, do you?
DeleteLove it all.
ReplyDeleteThe image with the two snags, the one on the right looks like some kind of giant stick insect with arms out for balance and head thrown back laughing.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the dead trees and surprise hawk. In the photo of the two trees the one on the right looks like it is dancing. :)
