Paynes Creek - Lots of blue sky

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. The shots for the next few days is from a May 15 hike at the Paynes Creek State Park which is south of Lakeland, FL. The trails only make up about 5 miles of hiking, but they are very pleasant miles.

The sky was awesome.

Spring this year as been dry, but there were enough wild flowers for me to stop a lot and enjoy.

I go gaga over these textures, open fields, lush forest, blue sky.

  1. An atmosphere of summer here. Here, it's the opposite. This is one of the wettest Springs I've ever seen in California (am happy, because almost every year CA has to buy water from other states). Did you get my email - regarding the side bar? If not, let me know! Have a great weekend.

  5. solider trees, lined up perfectly!! i love finding unexpected pops of color, wildflowers are so resilient! i planted a patch of wild seeds last year and the plants have doubled in size and area...pretty soon there won't be any room for grass!!!

  8. I'll have to travel up north to experience this wonderful place. We just got back from Illinois after experiencing lots of cold and wet weather. We should have stayed home in south Florida.
