I adore trees. And no, that isn't too strong a word.
ReplyDeleteWe have fires here each summer. Too often deliberately lit. And they hurt my heart.
There's heathland fairly near us where controlled burning is carried out, to maintain the plant balance. Looks terrible for a while, but it's amazing how quickly it greens up again.
ReplyDeleteNot the case with trees though. They take much longer and we do need our big old trees.

They are doing prescribed burns in our area right now and it was so smokey all day today. I'm surprised they do it when it's so dry! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Diane
ReplyDeleteFires are dreadful. The undergrowth has to be controlled otherwise a disaster in summer if a fire starts.
