Almost Done at Trout Creek

Greetings from the Hermit Writer.

Found myself out of the woods. But on the wrong side of the creek. That isn't the creek. That's the flood bypass, which drains into the creek, which floods the wetlands during a 'cane.

I struggle to tell juvenile ibis apart from limpkins. This is a juvenile ibis.

Even without the bright white plumage they're gorgeous.

I know! It's blurry. But as many times as I've hiked and bicycled Trout Creek I've never caught a picture of any of the feral pigs. This was a freakin' first and I was very excited.

And yet this is the best picture I got of any of them. Twenty of them...and this is my best photo.

I was so excited. A six hundred pound boar was trotting between those trees and I freakin' missed him. Those suckers are mean sounding. Sounded more like a mountain gorilla with a lisp than something I barbecue on the grill.

  4. I've enjoyed looking down through these posts! I take a lot of photos that look very similar here in central FL. We love to hike the trails here and have seen several of the wild boars...only gotten a couple of photos though. They are quick! Enjoy your week. The weather sure is nice now!
