Software Recommendation?

Greetings. The software I used before upgrading to Windows 10 last week is kaput.

Can you recommend software that, when the camera is recognized...

1) Creates a folder in my Pictures folder named [yyyy-mm-dd]
2) Downloads images found
3) Renames each image as [text][sequential number]
4) Deletes the image from the camera.

I really liked that HP software.

Thanks, Mac, the Hermit Writer.

  1. Let me see, I just went to the Canon site and downloaded the latest software for Windows 10, Easy. Might add my wife downloaded win 10 to her netbook and that is OK as well. (It's a HP one)

    1. ahhhh...I couldn't get the EOS utility to work...read the ReadMe file...It was because WIN executed its downloader and it had to be closed BEFORE I executed the EOS utility. Now that I figured THAT out...I'm ok with the utility (though it runs a lot slower than the old HP software did)

      Thanks, Bill

  3. Glad to know your problem is solved. I use a Canon camera but I work on a Mac so would not have been able to help you.

    1. who said it was resolved? I hate the Canon software. I'm still not sure if it will prefix the date on the img name. I thought I set it up but they came across as IMG_nnn...maybe I didn't something wrong. I need to take more pictures. :)

  4. I need to come up with a better system. I haven't done much since moving to Mac. Heck, I still need to download a new photoediting software.

  5. Don't know of a software program so I'm not much help.
I use for my Nikon camera old Canon software that seems to keep going on and on. I don't like the software for Nikon's.

  6. I just use whatever windows 10 has fro my photos. The windows 7 system was good and easy, put each lot of pictures into a folder with year, month, date and had an option to delete from camera once downloaded. Windows 10 is different, it doesn't do folders, instead it does a "collections" thing and once downloaded you create your own folder or add the pictures to an already in use folder. it does still have the option to delete from camera once downloaded. But it seems to prefer my big camera, when I plug in the small one I have difficulties.
