Snapshots - I Braved the August Heat

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. Kudos to me. I braved the brutal Florida-August heat today to bring you some river photos. (In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to my heat stroke recovery fund)

You see the red dragonfly?

  1. I know that mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Which category are you claiming?
Beautiful pictures though - thank you.

  2. I saw on another blog you asked about hummingbirds. It is pretty easy and the birds remember from year to year. All you need is a feeder, sugar and water. One part white sugar to four parts water. No boiling necessary. I like the saucer feeders as they are easy to clean and clean is every 3 to 4 days in the summer. Check out hummingbird.net for more information... Michelle

    1. Michelle...I'd be afraid to kill 'em with some fungus/bacteria. I'm not very good about venturing into the backyard during the week. I know I wouldn't get out there to clean the feeder...so maybe I should stick with titmouse, wrens, and cardinals.
