Snapshots - Terra Ceia Wilderness Park

Greetings from the Hermit Writer. The following shots are striking...though I got a little bummed thinking about them. This bit of wetlands was cut off from the ocean thanks to land developer vampires. As the saltwater was pushed out by fresh, all the mangroves (and everything that relied on them) died out.

deoxygenated water doesn't support anything but the algae.

At least there were great clouds to look at.

This makes me sad.

Very sad

See the tip of that dead palm?

This tiny mangrove sprig is trying to survive in an odd place.

  1. There are always consequences but when will the powers that be realise?

  2. I would like to deoxygenate some of those developers. And I would certainly like to see their bank balances go towards cleaning up messes like that.
Yes I am sad - but also angry.

  4. No water is visible, only green algae. It's a bit sad sight. Greetings.

  5. So much development, is it really necessary? It is sad, I would much rather see the mangroves and palms. Happy 4th of July, have a great weekend!

  9. Those are the worst vampires of all too, and they never look back. It's amazing though how resilient nature is. Lovely little growth I hope it lives on.

  13. Reminds me of an old Kevin Ayers' line: 'Making life easy, makingl life worse.'
