Care to BETA Read - SEEker 2

Surviving a bloody shootout with cartel thugs can change men. No doubt part of why the four new partners have grown into a surprisingly cohesive team. An autistic genius, a go-with-the-flow slacker, and two brothers with an unspoken history are fresh off an East Coast tour sticking it to one drug lord. The vacuum they created in the southeast drug corridor is sucking the partners into an ever-deepening hole. They can’t count how many are trying to kill them. The distraction of romance may be the coup de grace.

They survived by their toenails the first time around. Not looking good the second.

Characteristics versus Stereotypes

One of my favorite bloggers over at Moody Writing has an interesting conversation about characterization and stereotypes. All yall writers should read.

Opal Fire - Barbara Annino

Just finished reading OPAL FIRE by BarbraAnnino

Strong Recommendation: If you like sarcasm, wit, good writing, fun characters and romance that goes in five directions (oh, and witches…but who doesn’t like witches).

(And keep in mind...other writers are the harshest critic.)

I Love the process of Cover Design...

But it can be very time consuming. Any comments? Care to give me your vote?

(1) is the original cover for the prequel. Do I keep it, or tweak it to better match the sequel?

SEEker 2 Blurb - What do you think?

The recently-partnered and inexplicably-matched foursome of do-gooders makes a surprisingly cohesive team, despite the appearance of stumbling forward with no plan. An autistic genius, a go-with-the-flow slacker, and two brothers with an unspoken history, are fresh off an East Coast tour sticking it to one drug cartel. The vacuum they created is now sucking the partners in deeper, while they battle the threat of romance which always complicates things.

They survived by their toenails the first time around. Not looking good the second. It helps that one of them totes along a little unnatural luck…uh…skill.

Help me improve this blurb and I'll send you SEEker 1 in whatever electronic format you prefer.

Huntress Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff

Strong recommend for thriller/suspense readers.

I’ve restricted my reading to indies for a couple of years now. Lately I’ve been a little depressed I hadn’t found a work I could recommend…after deleting maybe a dozen or more in a row from my reader after a few pages, or chapters. So ecstatic to thump my chest and proudly shout out a recommendation.

I loved the characters, pacing, dialogue, plot and tension. The setting fit—I enjoy a little less description than most readers. The setup continued to build, the climax slid through many chapters without making me impatient.

Now…if my novels could get as many reviews as Huntress Moon, I’d be ecstatic.

Have a great day.

Cover Reveal -- SWITCHED

Cassie Mae redefines the New Adult genre with a novel that answers the eternal question: What do you do when you’re head-over-heels for your best friend’s guy?

Ever since high school, Kayla has been crazy for gorgeous football player Talon. But before she could muster the courage to tell him, he became a hot item with her beautiful BFF, Reagan. The only person who knows Kayla’s secret is Wesley, Talon’s best bud—and he’s got it bad for Reagan. Now they’re all in college together, hanging out 24/7. For Kayla, seeing the two lovebirds together is absolutely unbearable. So Kayla and Wesley hatch a plot to drive them apart. But time is ticking and they must act now, before Talon gives Reagan the Christmas gift she’s been waiting for.

Sure enough, the once-happy couple is fighting, Reagan suddenly can’t get enough of Wesley’s goofy sense of humor, and Talon seems to be paying more attention to Kayla than a guy who’s “just a friend” ever should. But something just isn’t right. Then Kayla and Wesley accidentally spend a night together, and discover a hitch they never considered: that switching partners may not lead to a perfect ending after all..

Cassie Mae is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about other nerds who find love. She’s the author of the Amazon Bestseller REASONS I FELL FOR THE FUNNY FAT FRIEND, and is the debut author for the Random House FLIRT line with her New Adult novels FRIDAY NIGHT ALIBI and SWITCHED. She also has a three book deal with Swoon Romance Publishing, including her book HOW TO DATE A NERD.

When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.

At What Cost - Jessie Andersen

During her junior year, sixteen-year-old Maggie Reynolds expected to shop for prom dresses not maternity clothes. Now, instead of studying for the SATs, she’s reading, What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Maggie’s ‘Mother Dearest’ lives in fear that Maggie will somehow taint the family name, so Maggie can’t turn to her for help. Meanwhile, her father is oblivious to anything but his 9-9 job. And her boyfriend, Justin? She’s pretty sure he’ll stay by her side. While Maggie wrestles with her options, Justin offers a solution: abortion. It would solve all her problems quickly, easily, and effectively. And her parents would never know, which means they won’t throw her out and cut her off like they’d always threatened if she got herself knocked up. But an easy decision becomes difficult when Maggie’s aunt discovers her secret and sets out on a mission to stop the abortion, putting a kink in Maggie’s plan. Now Maggie must decide which choice she can live with: abortion or teenage motherhood. Either way, it’ll be a tough road to travel.

Just when she had finally moved on…
…He moved back.

When college freshman Liz Wagner hears her ex's voice for the first time since he moved clear across the freaking country, she does what any respectable girl would do: Dive into the girls' bathroom.

Zach Roberts—the Zach Roberts—is back. And he’s everywhere Liz looks—infiltrating her friend group, buddy-buddy with her brother. It’s enough to ruin college altogether. But what choice does she have but to put on a happy face and pretend he didn't leave her vulnerable and alone in a pile of emotional wreckage?

Pretending works, until tragedy strikes and the only person available for comfort is the one person she wants to stay away from. When Zach turns out not to be the jerk she convinced herself he was, but the boy she used to love, Liz needs to decide whether to open her heart again to the boy who tore it out.
