Cover Feedback, anyone?

I'm test driving these two concept mock ups for the third volume of my Clan Dyfyd series. Does one grab your eye more than the other?

Based on one's another alternative:
But now I'm backing up...think I like these three together: bout that one with the tone turned down to match book 1 and 2?

  1. I'm more drawn to the one with the guy. Though from a distance he kind of looks like Cousin It. Maybe if we saw more of his profile.

  2. I go with the guy. But, I don't see any connection between the guy and the title or subtitle.

  3. I'm torn; neither say anything about the novel. Justen has long black hair, right? And is the horse Shadow - no shadow would be darker. Could you make the background colors lighter? Does the novel contain a battle across the sea? Perhaps with a lighter background you could have Justen stradling two continents, or maybe a map of the kingdoms he's uniting?

I was hoping on the cover of book two we might get to see Gryphon scaling the great wall. I think I just want an picture of Gryphon :)

  4. I'm a sucker for anything like this, but I did think "Cousin It" with the second one.

Can you get a profile for the second one?

  5. I'd go with the second one. The horse feels a bit too generic (even though it could be central to the story).

    Moody Writing

  6. I would go with the middle one that appears in a row by itself, the profile with the sword.

  7. Jeff...alternative posted...what do you think?
