Great Beta Feedback

I received some of the best beta-reader feedback yesterday. No surprise, this character-action-leaning writer was encouraged to add setting. Evidently, it's hard to get into a fantasy world if the setting is dribbled out too thinly throughout the novel.

Go figure.

She recommended a 'caste diagram,' to go along with my map for Lord Regent. What do you think about this?

  1. Heeey! That works. Some fantasies are so complexly set up, that things like this are needed. I think that would help. Although it also depends on how the castes are portrayed in the book, how often, how confusingly, etc. You could include it if your editor/publisher down the line is accepting and thinks it's helpful. Doesn't hurt to ask or include it (but not when you query)!
