Pix-Sunday Safari - Weedon Island State Preserve

Holy-moley, it was hot out there this morning…walking inside the mangroves with no breeze. Coming to a stand-still to take a pix meant letting the skeeters catch up to me. Arghhh (and yes, I sprayed on some anti-blood-sucking-carcinogen). Nice park…but I’m not going back in the summer.

The boardwalk was covered with these little crabs

May look like seed pods, but these things become mangrove 'roots'

 I loved the lookout...only place I got a breeze

That's downtown St. Pete, FL off in the distance

 Oh...he's so pretty

 Him too
Was someone nipping the juice when they were building this boardwalk?

I wonder how the skeeters were out there. Bet they had a breeze.

For da Yankees out there...that is Spanish Moss in the foreground

Have a great week.

  1. Oh yeah, I got to journey this lovely trail in the comfort of my air! Ha! Ha! Although we took a day out in the heat and sun and no wind but water and sail and good greentea and lemonade nice and chilled! Even saw a baby fawn covered in those cute little white spots! I am a fan of the Spanish Moss, and wish I had some right here too! Great boardwalk for sure, even the curvey one! Great photos!

  3. Awesome pictures! How long is the boardwalk? It looks to go on quite a ways.
